Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy

Massage is the manipulation of the body's soft tissues. Massage techniques are commonly applied with hands, fingers, elbows, knees, forearms, feet or a device. The purpose of massage is generally for the treatment of body stress or pain.

Self Care

Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy

Use  your hands or other tools to manipulate your own muscles. This involves kneading the skin and applying pressure in certain spots. Picking up some self-massage techniques can be a useful way to soothe stress and ease pain caused by poor posture or even some chronic conditions.

Therapeutic Massage session

At BodyWorx Training and Recovery, we  offer Therapeutic Massage Sessions. A blend of many styles of massage; treating each muscle group differently as needed for recovery and relief.

Service Menu

Swedish

Swedish massage involves long, kneading strokes combined with rhythmic tapping strokes and movement of the joints. This type of massage targets the uppermost layer of muscles and aims to relieve muscle tension.

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage targets chronic tension in muscles that lie far below the body's surface. Deep muscle techniques involve slow strokes, direct pressure or friction movements that go across the muscle grain.

Neuromuscular

Neuromuscular massage therapy is a form of soft tissue massage that aims to alleviate chronic muscle and nervous system disorders and problems. It is mainly used to fix trigger points, circulation, nerve compression, postural problems and repetitive movement injuries.

Connective Tissue

technique involves manipulating reflex zones to stimulate the neuro-vegetative system in order to normalise it and balance the body functions.

Sports Massage

specifically tailored to different sports and sporting injuries. It is not a relaxing form of massage and can often be quite strenuous. It works by stretching tight muscles, stimulating inactive muscles and improving the condition of the soft tissue..

Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic drainage massage, also known as manual lymphatic drainage, relieves swelling that happens when medical treatment or illness blocks your lymphatic system. Lymphatic drainage massage involves gently manipulating specific areas of your body to help lymph move to an area with working lymph vessels..

Cupping

Cupping is a form of massage therapy which decompresses soft tissues using vacuum suction, unlike other forms of massage that compresses soft tissues. During cupping, the cup gently sucks to your skin and lifts underlying soft tissue into the cup.

Gua Sha

Gua sha is a traditional Chinese healing method in which a trained professional uses a smooth-edged tool to stroke your skin while they press on it. This motion raises small, red, rash-like dots that show under your skin called petechiae. People use gua sha to treat chronic pain all over their body.

Kinesology Taping

Kinesiology tape stabilizes the injured area by lightly adhering to the skin and applying pressure to the tissues the tape is wrapped around. This tape allows the connective tissue surrounding the affected muscle or tendon to move along with the body

Assisted Stretching

Assisted Stretching, or Partner Stretching, is stretching with the assistance of another person. Assisted stretching allows your body to move in ways that it is not able to when stretching alone
